Hi, I’m Santiago Álvarez — a multidisciplinary artist from Colombia, currently based in Germany.
At the heart of my practice is a deep curiosity about how space inhabits us. How architecture, imagery and memory shape our lives, and how we, in turn, shape them back. Always moving between the tactile and the conceptual.
In my documentary work, I engage with human-built environments as living systems, conducting visual and architectural research that extends beyond form, into the emotional and social realities of the people within them.
Through ceramics and painting, I return to space in mythology, gesture, and fantasy. These works exist between worlds — between matter and imagination.
In 2022, with the support of my family, I helped bring Casa Muyska to life — a cultural house in Moniquirá, Colombia.
Casa Muyska is a space for creation and rooted experimentation. It’s a place where tradition and innovation share the same breath.
